SEVEN Years Running - EWG Names Block Island Organics a Best Sunscreen & Daily SPF

We’ve done it again! We're proud to announce that the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) has named us a best in their 2021 Guide to Sunscreens & Daily SPFs:

• SEVEN years running our Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 is a Best Recreational Sunscreen
• SIX years running our Natural Face Moisturizer SPF 30 is a Best Daily Use SPF

EWG’s Guide to Sunscreens

This is the 15th year of the EWG’s Annual Guide to Sunscreens. The EWG is a non-profit and non-partisan organization and its mission is to protect our health and the environment. They want their sunscreen guide every year to be a "a one-stop location for finding safer, more effective products".

This year their guide reviewed over 1800 sunscreens and SPF product and found that 75% of the sunscreens did not provide adequate sun protection or included ingredients linked to harm. According to the EWG: 

"We have found that only about a quarter of them offer adequate protection, without concerning ingredients, such as oxybenzone, a potentially hormone-disrupting chemical that is readily absorbed by the body."

None of our sunscreen or SPF products contain any chemical sunscreen ingredients. Our sunscreens are mineral ONLY. And with only a quarter of the products deemed safe and effective by the EWG, we're excited to be on their list!
