Sunscreen a MUST for Kendall and Kylie Jenner

by kelly / December, 16 2015 01:30

Say what you want about the Kardashian-Jenner family but one thing they believe in is sunscreen and I have to give them a thumbs up for that. At least this week I'm a fan because they have come out once again in support of sunblock.

Recently Kendall and Kylie Jenner's dermatologist, Christie Kidd, revealed the sisters' entire skin care routine on Kylie's app. The number one thing that their dermatologist recommends in the morning is sunscreen.

Dr. Kidd said that after gently cleansing the face, the first thing you should apply is sunblock. Check out the video snippet below from the app featuring Kendall and Kylie's dermatologist talking about sunblock:

It makes sense a dermatologist would say sunscreen is a MUST, as UV rays from the sun are a leading cause of skin damage and premature skin aging.  Since the Jenner girls are among the most photographed women in the world it also makes sense that they would care about their skin and want to look their best.  Let's not forget that the effects of sun damage are cumulative so it's important for them and everyone for that matter to start a good suncare regimen sooner rather than later.

Even Khloe Kardashian has said in the past that she puts sunscreen in all her cars to make sure she is frequently reapplying it - especially on her exposed hands while she is driving.

Finally even if you are not fans of this family, we get it, then check out all these other organizations such as The American Academy of Dermatology, The Skin Cancer Foundation, The American Cancer Society, The Center for Disease Control and The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) that ALL support wearing sunscreen. In fact broad spectrum sunscreens like ours are required by the FDA to put the following language on their labels: "If used as directed with other sun protection measures (see Directions), decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun."

I hope this isn't too much Kardashians-Jenners for you but I can't help but want to share every time someone famous or some popular publication comes out in support of sunscreen. It's what we believe in here at Block Island Organics - that good skincare starts with sun protection!
