Painted Rock is one of those local in-the-know things. You'll find a few posts about it on the internet but for the most part you'll either find out from a local or because you cruised right past. Quite literally, it is a painted rock on Block Island. Albeit one that's been painted hundreds if not thousands of times with message ranging from the absurd to wedding proposals to presidential welcomes and beyond. Will and I recently got engaged and I've been thinking, well really avoiding wedding planning. Mainly I've been researching places I want to travel to, using wedding planning as a ruse. My dream wedding / vacation would be something abroad on a beautiful and sunny white sand beach with crystal blue water. I'm secretly hoping to win the lottery to pay for it and hire someone to plan it. Nevertheless, in my research I've come across several rankings for the best beaches in the world. I can't let all my research go to waste!

From time to time we like to talk about something not related to sunscreen, this week is one of those times. Instead, let's talk about The Big Easy. Kelly and I were there this past week for a wedding. I must admit it wasn't my fist time in New Orleans as I went to college there but it's always great to go back! Ever since I first visited Block Island years ago, the bluffs have been one of my favorite spots. They are truly majestic and it's not just the bluffs but also the beach below. Here at Block Island Organics we think it's important to highlight the beauty of this little slice of paradise and this is the first in a series of posts dedicated to doing just that. So let's start with Mohegan Bluffs and don't forget your sunscreen!

We here at Block Island Organics love to travel the world in search of sun and fun. Of course we always remember to bring our sunblock on our travels. On my vacations I particularly love to sit by the water, be it a pool or a beach, and bathe in the sun while protecting myself from the sun's rays.
