Sunscreen is an even better anti-ager than we all thought. We know that sunscreen prevents skin damage. Now a new study published in Dermatologic Surgery a medical journal proves that sunblock can also reverses the signs of skin aging! That’s great news.

A little known fact, all sunscreens (or sunblocks if you call them that) are considered over-the-counter (OTC) drugs by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This has many consequences. One is that in almost all states sunscreen can’t be given to students. Interesting right? Read on…

The results are in! In a recent survey 100% of dermatologists agreed that sunblock prevents skin aging, 97% said sunscreen protects against skin cancer and 100% recommended using at least an SPF 30 sunscreen. So I have to say, it’s great to see dermatologists agreeing on the importance of sun protection.

Sunscreen is the best anti-aging weapon. Numerous studies, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Skin Cancer Foundation and major fashion magazines (like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar) all support this point. Adding another one to the books is a new study that found women who use sunscreen are more likely to be exceptional skin agers when compared to women who almost never do.

Heading to the beach soon for a little summer vacation in the middle of winter? Don’t just rely on your beach umbrella to protect you from the sun. A new study recently published in JAMA Dermatology found that a beach umbrella alone was not enough and is less effective than sunscreen at preventing sunburns.
