Yes, that’s right, treat sunscreen like toothpaste - make it daily habit. That is great advice I heard from a doctor. Why? Because unfortunately skin cancer is on the rise, one of the best skin cancer preventions is sunscreen, and studies show treating sunblock like toothpaste makes you much more likely to use it daily.

For instance, last year experts declared large sections of the Great Barrier Reef dead. While all this is a bit depressing, help is on the way. I know it may sound odd but kids are also at risk of skin cancer. In fact, 40-60% of sun exposure occurs before the age of 20. Thus it’s important for adolescents to start good sun protection habits sooner rather than later. In our on-going series to support Skin Cancer Awareness month this May – here’s info and advice on protecting kids and preventing adolescent skin cancer.
